It's the way they're just--stopped. Fallen where they were, on balconies or floors, at tables, making food. A few here in a bunch, all crumpled just to one side of the entrance, as if they all decided to stop talking at once and drifted asleep.
"It's eerie." She agrees, finally. Delicately, she makes her way to one of the closer beings, holding out a hand to touch their neck, to test if there's life. There, holding, but with no substance to it.
"Alive. This is almost worse than if they were dead. I could understand that something struck them down but--they're just sleeping. All at once. What disease could do that? Or is this magic?"
