Curufin is standing on the platform in his orange dive suit, arranging his breathing apparatus and putting on the helmet. He doesn't bother with the ladder, just steps off the edge of the platform and hits the water with a splash.

He surfaces and treads water for a few moments, waiting for other Orange Team members. He watches with interest as Zelda generates a ball of light and sends it down into the water.

"Zelda, Have you noticed anything odd about this place? When I try to communicate with mindspeech, it doesn't work. And I can't see a damn thing when I try the palantir stone. You have powers, too, obviously. Are some of them muted or deadened altogether?"
