"I was totally hoping for a better plan than that, but that works too."

He hoped, at least. He knew they were supposed to be protecting the village and everyone in it, but he'd kind of been hoping to run into people who were better prepared than he was. Which he figured was like, everyone else. Because he'd kind of just walked into this hoping it didn't involve any swimming.
