Dyme stared for a moment, mouth hanging open a bit. "Dude," he said. That was so cool! He wished he could do things like that, instead of trembling in fear while holding a torch. He lowered it a little now, since the monster seemed like less of a threat. It was still terrifying, though.
Kicking some sand in the monster's direction, he scrambled for something else to distract it with. "Your mother's an oyster!" Nailed it, totally scathing insult. He was pretty sure the creature couldn't understand him anyway and probably only went for noises and movement.
