The effects of the combination of the stabbing and Firaga were immediate and violent. The creature gave another gurgling roar of pain, but this time instead of convulsing, it went limp, twitching weakly but otherwise still. It clearly wasn't getting up again.

Unfortunately, it didn't drop any items or munny. But that was less of an immediate concern than one might expect because what did end up dropping was the weight of its heavy, slippery tentacle onto its two opponents, necessitating their wriggling their way out of the tangle of somewhat charred squid monster before they did anything else.
