Everyone he had met here was helpful. Despite being dragged from their homes, their own struggles and those they cared about they had banded together to help strangers on worlds unknown.

Her question though made him blink in surprise. Was he happy?

That is a question that is far too complicated. Right now he was scared and anxious and unable to sense Lord Gyousou. On the train in general he was happier than he had been in years because he was with his king. But in general? He was separated from Tai once more, unable to help his people. With no idea if he he could ever return there. Happiness has always been fleeting and rare. He had been happy once. When Lord Gyousou had been on the throne, when all seemed like it might just finally be working out.

But it hadn't worked out and frankly he's not sure if he even deserves to be happy. He has failed in everything he was meant to do, his people left to starve, freeze and die. Many are dead, if not quite by his hand then at least pretty close to it. Happiness isn't something he should be feeling.

He's not sure how to even start answering her so just blinks. "Um... Are you?"
