The hair ties were confusing but Ignis made no mention of it because Prompto could do wacky things and Duo did possess long hair such as none of the Crownsguard wore though Gladio was working on it. Ignis had listened to the part about the knives and gathered the rest of the swords, unsure as to who would wield them. Luckily he himself didn't have to worry about that but he would definitely keep them close.
