For a moment it seems as if she might just keep pinching his ears and tugging on it like that, but after a moment of his gentle attempts to remove her hand, she finally gives in, letting go of him with a resigned sigh.
"No." She frowns. "Even if we had met differently, I wouldn't have judged your looks."
How could she? Alice is pretty sure she looks much, much worse under all the layers of clothes she hides under. And unlike him, she feels entirely unable to think of any of the marks on her as reminders of anything good.
Maybe it's why she's so upset about his attitude to begin with. It's something she could never have.
