It had been a while since he'd simply played around with Ignis. There had been so much on their plate and he knew his mate was prone to default back into dutiful-to-a-fault mode. A chance to play on a beach was heavenly.

He'd almost been perfectly smooth with Ignis as they kissed and went under the water. The initial few seconds was lovely and he felt the connection healing all the longing that had built up over the week. The next few seconds? He'd stepped on something slick and gone under more than he meant to.

Pulling both of them back up, he sputtered on the saltwater and splashed ungracefully. It didn't help that he was laughing while he was trying to breathe. When he felt more in control, he gave Ignis a grin. "That looks so easy in the movies!"
