It was something irrevocably strange, to hear her thoughts expressed aloud by another person so accurately. For a moment she just sat, and processed, and experienced an odd sense of validation. The flame in her hand had died down, and her fingers had closed into a fist; her fingernails still had chips of red paint despite her misadventures and she found herself fixing on that as she listened and nodded.
"Sounds like you've got your head on straight. You get any response from... the gods, or whatever they are, here?"
Her hand dropped back to her lap, and she glanced sideways, eyes flickering up to his face and down to the hand that had been coated in dark residue. "Guess it'd be nice to know there's a world where they're not a total mess, you know?"
