He startled slightly when he cat spoke, because he hadn't been expecting it. But his hand only paused the stroking for a couple of seconds. He hadn't thought this cat would speak but he was sure that as he could he would have said if he didn't like the stroking.

He shifted though so he was lying next to the cat and smiled at them. "Hello. Sorry I didn't know you spoke."
