Maru slowly pulled his knees up to his chest and just as slowly eased himself forward. His head was turned to face Madoka. And yes, the bruised side of his face was resting on his knees but it didn't hurt so much. It looked worse than it was. But he was amused that Madoka was so worried about it even after he'd told her it would all be gone by tomorrow. The day after at the very latest.

"It will happen again." He said softly, needing her to understand that. "Thanks for worrying. But if it means protecting you, or the people you care for, it'll happen again. I can't die, Madoka... That thing could have torn me up and I would have lived." But he'd done what he'd wanted. He'd been the distraction the others needed to defeat it. "... If I can help, injuries like this are worth it. If I can stop you from being hurt, I'll take the hit. Just remember I'll live and heal."
