Her heart goes out to the young man before her, who hadn't intended to be reminded of his own past- and who certainly hadn't intended to remind her of hers.
"It does," she quietly agrees, "It really does."
She takes a moment to pick up another bowl for herself and fill it.
"I'm sorry about your home. And... I was lucky, in a sense. There were people who managed to get out of Castle Town."
Not the castle, though. Not as far as she knows. That was just her and Impa, desperately running before the walls meant to keep them safe snapped them shut in a trap.
"Most of them went to a village called Kakariko, to the east of the city. They were safe there, for the most part. But my guardian... she thought it would be best if we left Hyrule, for a while. Until I was old enough to look after myself. And it wasn't terrible, not really. But I never forgot...."
She swallows. "What was its name, if you don't mind my asking? Your home?"
