47 definitely did not sigh as he watched the little girl duck under the water. He did not feel resigned as he shed his shirt once more and tossed it to the sandy beach again.

He did definitely take his time wading back out into the water, watching to see if the girl managed to resurface on her own or not.

If she did, he would stop short and watch, waiting somewhere in the water nearby.

If she didn't, he would grab her by the nearest limb to him and drag her back towards the surface, righting her after he figured out which way she was facing when he grabbed arbitrarily.
