aggressivelygood: (011 ✪ I'm still uninvited)

A quiet happiness rose in his chest, glowing on his face. Though he was technically an Adventurer by this point, Sven had never thought himself a 'hero' like some of the prideful blowhards he'd shared crowded taverns or investigated village mishaps alongside. He was a messenger, a servant, often a protector sent at the instruction of his patron.

Above all he was a bridge between people and the gods. He served people as much if not more than he served the divine. He didn't fault Light for her hesitance towards the gods, but if he could help her have a more open relationship with the higher powers then his duty was fulfilled. More than anything he was happy to help a friend.

She hadn't seemed to mind his touch, so he took her hand and held it lightly in his palms, gentle like he's trying to keep a butterfly in his grasp without crushing its wings. His touch leaves more black smudges on her skin as he strokes her wrist with his thumb.

"I'm sure the spirits would appreciate your prayer. If you wanted to. They're divine, yes, but I think we're on equal standing for setting them free. They protected us in turn, of course, but we owe them no debt. It might be a nice thing to do for yourself, though...but no pressure. Me, I'm just going to sit here and keep enjoying the breeze. You're welcome to stay."
