And he means that, really. The last Roland saw of Tidus was when he practically shoved a Potion down his gullet to replenish energy. Magic took a toll on all its users no matter how talented, and Roland knew that from even before the mission, watching his friends back home cast spell after spell and needing insane amounts of rest and support after every cast.

His face is a picture of calm, though his hand underneath the table has finally loosened his boot enough to cast it aside as gently as possible so as not to alert Tidus. It makes a quiet thump on the floor, his socks stained significantly with red, but Roland once again pays the feeling no mind. "Thanks. I'm doing fine. All I need is a nice, hot shower and maybe a cat nap or two, and I'll be ready for chores again." Roland chuckles, once again grateful for the surge of energy that only his young body could afford him.
