Gerome had just stood to go and do that, to go and look and check that he hadn't somehow accidentally missed Inigo. Before he could move, the door to the room opened and a head poked in. And then a body. And then Inigo was there and before Gerome could open his mouth, the other was on him.
He was still for a moment, puzzled by the embrace, puzzled by the tears he could feel, hot upon his shoulder. He was still up until Inigo spoke... and then slowly he moved his own arms. It was awkward at first, hugging was something he was not used to in the slightest. It was new and it was strange and it was stranger still that it was something Inigo sought out from him of all people. But he carefully curled his arms around Inigo in return.
"... I said I had no plans on leaving you, did I not?" He was sure he'd said as much, or words similar to that. Had Inigo not believed him?
