But then the other continues so earnestly. And maybe it's something about how nice Roland is, or maybe it's how the way he acts reminds Inigo of-- He can't finish that thought. Not right now, not even to himself.

But it makes it hard to outright lie and say he will do that, even though he's fully intending on not doing it. He doesn't want to let Roland down like that.
