Tidus has caught Madoka at a rock pool, more of a pond in size, and not entirely closed off from the main sea. But that's what brings in the tiny fish, scales iridescent, swimming without a care for what shadows may cast overhead. Even coral reef clung to the stonework underneath the pooled water, mostly the same rocky shade as it clung to, but there were reds and yellows, even a rather glittering blue. Like jewels almost in how they caught the eye.

Everything on this island was like that: eye-catching and memorising.

The young girl isn't why he's here. He's probably like her, just exploring the area, somehow just swimming not enough to occupy this guy. It's still unbelieving they're being allowed to just...wander like this, be free. As unbelievable as their whole situation, being trapped on a train to go on life-saving (and life-risking) missions to begin with.

But Tidus can't help but be captivated by the beauty, crouched down by the rock pool's edge.
