She agreed!!! She agreed!!

Tidus wasn't actually sure if Light would be up for it--or that she'd be a hard sell, and she was tentative for a moment there. But then she agrees, and should Tidus be as thrilled as he is that she's going along with it? Why can't he be--he likes her, and he wants Light to enjoy herself. And however different they might be, he thinks there's a chance she'd like a sport. It's engaging! All these battlers should have a go with some sports once in a while.

"Great! The stuff's this way!" Regardless, he's got a bounce to his step to take the lead, show her the way; a net already set up, to get a good place and figuring out how to set it up (the answer: bamboo poles).

"In the gym, you can let it hit the ground, but you can't do that on the soft ground here! There's volleyball too if you don't like the rackets. That's got more jumping and hitting the ball with your hands!"

Can Tidus fill the air leading over to the net and collection of sports equipment deemed unacceptable to just leave in the train? You betcha.
