"You have..." Gerome looked surprised before he could do much to temper the reaction. "You have been up there? Among the stars?" Yes, he understood (as much as one could understand) that the train travelled through time and space via what they called The Void. But he had never been in space proper. Never seen the stars as they would look beyond the pull of his home planet, or any other. It was an amazing thought to be sure.
