Glorfindel winced. "Ouch. That had to be rough, being betrayed like that. I understand all too well. In our case, it was one of our own who sold us out to the enemy for what he thought he was due. He did not survive the invasion." When he had gone after Idris, and to kill her son, Tuor had pushed him over the wall, killing him. Glorfindel had seen all three, plus the other survivors to safety. Well, the remains of his House did, anyway, as he'd died on the way.
He shrugged, and smiled sadly back at Gladio. "I have had five thousand years, plus the wise help and healing from the Valar to help me come to grips with it. Those who died are safe in the Halls, and those who survived are all back in Valinor now." He gently laid a hand on Gladio's shoulder. "I am deeply sorry for your loss, however. It must have been hard for you, especially not being there."
