"Yes." He nodded, "I thought it was very fun to get around with nobody knowing I was there."

It was easier, he still felt uncomfortable at the deference people treated him with and it had been even harder as a child. Sneaking through the side passages had allowed him to get around without people stopping and bowing to him. Allowed him to stay out of sight when being in sight made him feel awkward and out of place.
