"Who knows? I kept my mind occupied. I kept count of the time since petrification which was exactly 117,354,893,870 seconds, and I partitioned my mind to think of other things while I waited. Planning for the spring was vital. I didn't know if there was some way I could control my reawakening but I...directed my will solidly in the spring and tried to ease off when it got too late in the year. If I had woken up in the winter, I'd die all too quickly." Senku explained. "But it's just darkness so I knew that only through keeping track of time."
He chuckled, he got that it was a gaming reference. "Yeah, maybe, or maybe I'm just a stubborn guy. I can tell you that in a void of nothingness, your mind will try and clock out at 800,000 seconds, or every nine and a quarter days. If anyone besides Taiju managed to go that long, they at least probably didn't get much further than that."
There was a fear associated with that kind of suspension, confusion, and giving in would've been the more rational thing for most people to do.
