The fire dogs have tougher endurance than the wolves, but they go down by Vigilant's skill, eventually all coming to a stop. Tidus breathes as the battle seems to finally come to an end--the now still bodies perhaps an omen of what was waiting for them, wolf fur tattered by the muck.
