1) Dressing Up

"Woo! Gettin' thrown right into the action, huh?" Chie certainly doesn't seem to mind. She's changed into a dark brown tunic and skirt (still with her bike shorts underneath) and replaced her jacket with a cloak in forest green -- though she's wearing it more like a cape. A royal purple sash loops over one shoulder, a nod to her team color.

Once Chie's all packed up, it's hard for her to contain her enthusiasm. "This is kinda exciting!" she laughs. "I haven't done anything like this in ages."

2) Sparring Time

Chie's found some nice steel-toed boots that are raising her attack power a little, but she's hoping to earn some gold and pick up something more armored to give her a real boost. But which quest to choose? Well, the minute she hears the word "spar", the decision is made.

She greets the trainees at the Guardhouse with good cheer. Some of the younger ones are a bit put off at being asked to spar with a petite girl, but after she sweeps her first challenger right off his feet, they start showing her a bit more respect. Chie takes on the trainees one at a time, showing off an unusual fighting style that's kick-based only -- she doesn't even use her arms to block attacks! And she's careful to offer constructive advice after each fight; it may be filtered through the language of action movies, but it's still helpful.

3) Don't Feed the Trolls

For her first mission, Chie's decided to stick with the Purple team. The train probably put her on it for a reason, right? So she tags along with the group gathering in the Lion's Mane. The gating is an almost familiar feeling after all those times using Goho-Ms or Traesto to teleport out of dungeons in the TV world.

And then it's a rush to get to the village, where a golem and troll are attacking! Chie cracks her knuckles and makes a quick decision. Golem: blighted but mindless, more confused than anything else. Troll: actively causing trouble and seems to be enjoying it. Definitely the higher priority.

"Hey, ugly!" Chie shouts, dashing into the center of the village with her cape flapping dramatically in the wind. "How about you come pick on someone your own size?" (Never mind that she's only 5'2".) "If you're not too scared, that is!"
