singlefaith: (somewhat forced)

"I'm trying to choose what to wear." Again her fingers stop on what's obviously a dress, and she forces herself to pull away without looking at it; it'll only make her sigh again. "Some of these dresses are so pretty, aren't they? It's . . . not very practical, though, when a lot of these missions end up making us fight something."

A little laugh, though plainly she's being wistful. "Mm, I'm being silly, I guess. It's just . . . we don't get a lot of options in clothes, so when I have the chance to actually choose, I feel like I have to waste it."

She doesn't really expect him to understand, honestly. It feels silly even to her -- what difference does it really make, especially given the situations they find themselves in on the train? It's a little girl impulse to crave something beautiful rather than practical -- an impulse she can't afford to indulge right now.
