"Yeah, yeah. I know." I mean, he gets it. He'd seen revival magic brings back the recently dead to live and he'd seen undead in his travels around the Planet so he knew the difference. Although he'd never seen what makes the undead in the first place.

"Hmm. Magic is pretty simple where I'm from. You got the right tool, you can work the magic. Some spells take more time and effort though. Life spells are pretty taxing but it's just another spell as far as I'm concerned." He considered for another moment. "Doesn't work all the time. Only works on the recently dead, so no bringing decayed corpses back to life. Wounds needs to be healable by the spell cast so nothing too major. And--" He cut off. He didn't really feel like saying more as he wasn't really certain of it.

But where he was from it would make sense. The soul had to be willing to come back. It needed to still be nearby. If it entered the Lifestream it was unlikely to come back. And then dead was dead.

Maybe that was how undead happened sometimes. Huh.
