There was no need to feel quite so apologetic since this last portion was 100% Silvia's fault but it was thoughtful all the same. When the hand up was offered she instinctively reached for it, then hesitated, then debated. It would be rude not to accept the aide but it would mean- GASP -holding hands.
Even she could appreciate just how lame her reasoning was for not taking the other's hand, so in another moment she took it just hoping that her nerves were not prominently displayed on her features. This person was just trying to help her up not ask her out on a date. Sheesh. "Is that really okay?" Pointing with her free hand to the man currently totting off the lumber, instantly feeling a pang of guilt at the lost revenue, light flickering off the ornate handchain on her left hand.
"No, I should be the one apologizing to you," She was ready to go ahead and accept the blame for nearly getting struck with the logs if it would smooth over the tension she was feeling. "I guess I was following along too close.. and... what did you say?"
Okay, this time, her head tilted down enough so she could stare at anything but the handsome stranger. Apparently the road was the most fascinating thing in existence. With a nervous laugh,".. but I already cost you your job, you wouldn't want to then turn around and spend more."
