"The X-Blade is something really special, being the only thing that can unlock Kingdom Hearts, the heart of all worlds, and as a weapon, it supposedly makes all the normal Keyblades look like cheap toys by comparison. But Keyblades were made in its image first as an attempt to control the light of Kingdom Hearts, and later, as an attempt to protect it. That's why they're so special, and why they have the powers they do; they're one of the only things that can counter the effects of darkness and really protect the light."
