Roland crosses his arms again, and makes a move to depart as soon as Tidus stares at the items in his hands. He can't say how much it truly bothers him to watch a spirit like Tidus deflate, double-guess; but Roland is not in the same mindset, so he does what he believes might be a favor to him, something Tidus would do if it was Roland in that position. Refuse to coddle him. At least, for now.
"Get your head in the game. Yesterday is over and today is today. Stepping off of this train today means people are going to be relying on you. Or stay. That's up to you too."
He walks ahead, leaves the in-between of his words to stew however Tidus wants to understand it. But for Roland, it's clear as day. His feelings on that fateful day aside, the fact that he's here, choosing to go to the mission, means something. And if he wants to stay, then no one will blame him for it. But the work comes first, and he knows Tidus knows that too, deep down. So Roland leaves him at that, nods at him with fire in his eyes and gestures wordlessly to his earpiece - a sign that if he needs him, Roland is still listening, still online - before walking back into the fray of people.
