adregem: (when is his thinking cap off?)

The rats have thinned out significantly between the time Roland shouts at Inigo for his attention and when Inigo actually joins him at this part of the sewer. His arms are still extended, the barrel of the glock glistening against the low lights cast by the lanterns hanging on the walls. A thin trail of smoke floats out from the bore and caliber. Though the Arms Band has granted it infinite ammo, as with all firearms, there was a cooldown period in between emptying its clip and waiting for the magic to replenish it.

Roland assesses Inigo carefully as soon as the last rat is shot point black. When he's satisfied with the younger boy's state, unhurt and unscathed, he finally lowers the pistol back down.

"Thank you. To be honest, this job does seem like a two-man deal. I'm glad you're here. We've got no clue how many blighted rats are living down here since the week passed. One person might get swarmed, and I don't want to think about that." Which makes him happy that Inigo came along with him instead of Inigo deciding it might be better to clear out an infestation all on his own. He tilts his head to the side, gesturing to travel further in. Roland has little idea of what had transpired between Tidus and Inigo earlier that day, and is so unaware of the internal turmoil brewing in the teenager before him.

"Let's go. I'll cover you from behind. These things get jumpy."
