"Monster anatomy," says Curufin, with a chuckle. "Makes it sound like a biology text. I wonder if the author thinks monsters have different weak spots than human beings?" He shrugs. "Oh well, maybe some of them do. I can guess that a troll or an Orc has a heart, just like I do, and that if I can stab down through its left shoulder between the neck and the collarbone, I'll kill it. But Balrogs are different, though they're organic. It's just that they're extremely flammable, and when they erupt into flame, you can't find a weak spot." He folds his arms and smiles. "Oh well, so far on these missions I haven't had to fight a Balrog."

He fishes around in his tunic pocket and finds another bag of candy, and he opens it and picks out a few of the red candies that he likes the best, and pops them into his mouth. If Xue Yang is going to eat candy, Curufin might as well, too.

"Still, it would be good if the author of that text has ideas of the weak spots of various monsters. Maybe you will encounter some that are like the ones in the book. I haven't used the library yet, really. Did you check the book out, or do you have to go back to the library carriage to finish reading it?"
