flatteries: (i heard an unhappy ending)
a man for flowers ✿ ( INIGO ) ([personal profile] flatteries) wrote in [community profile] middleofsomewhere 2020-09-29 11:38 am (UTC)

The fact that something is off should slowly start to get obvious by the fact that Inigo is actually letting Roland shield him like that. Usually - especially when it comes to danger - he'd insist on shielding Roland instead, or at the very least not letting the other get hurt for his sake, after all.

But right now Inigo seems more than happy to put Roland between him and whatever danger he has perceived ahead of them. Instead he just keeps on clinging onto the man's arm, letting out a whimper, his eyes shut tight. If there's ever a moment where Inigo has looked like an overgrown toddler, it's this very moment.

"I-- It's there!" He points ahead, at a wall. "Oh, Roland, it's so awful! You have to kill it with fire! Please, get rid of it..!"

If Roland follows the vague direction Inigo is pointing at, he may finally realise what's wrong.

There's a cockroach on the wall. Not even an oversized one, or a blighted one, oh no. It's just a regular sized cockroach.
