He doesn't have a fast enough instinct for hugging yet that he was able to give Inigo a hug back, but the growing smile on his face is enough proof that he did reciprocate the celebratory embrace regardless!
"Not at all. You have good instincts. You could tell something was wrong right away, and you know how to move in the dark. I knew you were someone I could fight side by side with, even before in Terra." The pride in his voice is evident too, with a nod or two for emphasis. And it's an even greater feat that Roland witnesses Inigo bend down to hug the fire higgledy, who by no control of Roland's, happily peals in Hiiiggle! Piiiigle! Hig! in response to the affection. Though he is unable to understand them, he knows Bambosh is pleased to have been able to help; especially as Inigo showers him with praise, now. It takes courage to go against something that gross and giant, after all!
In fact, Bambosh is just going to hang around Inigo for now, abandoning Roland for a moment. The higgledy will be content in his arms, for now, like a small pet held close to Inigo's chest.
Roland looks around and does the one gross thing that just ruins the whole cute picture of victory: he summons his sword again, looks over at the giant dead rat, and slices off its tail.
"We need proof for the reward." Wow, he couldn't have said that in a calmer tone.
