"You didn't do anything!" Tidus steps forward with those words, hands beginning to reach out. But they hesitate, stop with that step; unsure of how to continue with his lost mind as to where to go, what to say first. All this blame--he doesn't want to hear it. Why is Inigo blaming himself so much?
Because he always does. Because he's so hard on himself. Tidus drags the hesitation out of his feet and continues forward, taking Inigo by the shoulders and squeezing into them. Firm. There.
"You wanted to be there for me, Inigo, there's nothing wrong with that. You're my friend. You think I'd blame you for reaching out? I... You didn't do anything wrong." Will Inigo believe him if he says that? Can he make him believe it when he's like this? It hurts to see him crying, 'cause of him. Maybe not all him, but he hasn't helped Inigo at all.
"I wasn't any better on my own. I was miserable. I was...stuck. I just laid there, not doing anything. But I didn't know what else to do." His fingers curl, loosening some in their grip. "I didn't...think there was anything I should do. I still...don't."
His head dips, voice wavering. "I did something terrible, Inigo...I'm..."
But he doesn't want to say it. There's no way to explain just what he did. What he's been carrying this entire time.
