At the sight of that look on poor Taiki's face, Inigo's own jaw starts dropping. Like he realised he just made a really dumb mistake by letting his mouth run on without thinking. It feels like a punch in the gut, the thought that he's making Taiki feel bad again, but Inigo knows he isn't allowed to linger in that. He has to set things right first, one way or another.

Even if it's through downplaying his experience.
