Gen found a good place for them to sit - near enough they could people-watch for amusement, but out of the way enough so that it was unlikely someone would accidentally bump into Senku. That's something he encountered previous evenings here, and didn't think his friend would appreciate it.

"I've learned something just a little concerning," Gen told him. "It turns out that people can just ... lose time. Someone on our train woke up in the luggage compartment this morning, after being missing for days."

It's not really a cheerful topic, despite Gen's smile, but he didn't want to sit on the information if Senku wasn't already aware.
