Zechs saw the flames shooting all around them, and internally braced himself. Wide jungle, humid air, sound of wood popping as they caught fire. The smell of it was different, too. Simple, preemptive techniques that ground him to the present place and time.

And then. He'd run forward, borrowed blade in hand, to pick off the survivors. Something he'd seen often used, is that the heat from explosions and burning wreckage would often confuse the sensor systems within mobile suits and mobile dolls. It seemed that these robots were not much different.

The first surviving robot couldn't lock on its weapons against him in time - and it was sliced through the middle, effective and swift.
