Reno frowned slightly. Shinra's (lack of) propriety aside, what did he really want to say about the whole Sephiroth creation thing. What he knew was Sephiroth was created that way straight from the womb--two human parents, technically speaking, but altered with Jenova's cells before he was actually born.

Which was worse: the way they created Sephiroth himself, or the way they'd altered people to make the "clones" and other copies of Sephiroth to try to recreate that one success. Either way, the outcome sucked. It either killed them, made them go insane, or did both.

Reno settled on giving Curufin a simple shrug. "Is either option really all that great? They didn't know what they were messing with. It got them what they wanted: a super soldier that could win the war. It just also fucked up a lot of shit along the way, too."
