Daia tries to imagine what taking care of a whole planet must be like, and frowns. He can't even take care of himself. In fact, people often need to take care of him. He can't imagine a world where he'd have to manage a bunch of others similar to himself in any way. These whatever-they-were must have absolutely gotten lost on taking care of such a place, especially if they had tons more to take care of. It's full of animals, it must have been easier to not worry about.
"...Do you think they ever meant to come back?" Or were these computers meant to just do the tasks themselves? "Do you think that meteor would have destroyed everything here if we didn't show up?"
It's kind of sad for Daia to think about, really: A forgotten world that might have become obliterated. Even if he didn't contribute to the planet's salvation, he dreads the idea of what could have happened if they didn't show up.
