[ There.

There it is.

He sees it. Recognizes it. That spark of self-sacrifice that he knows and breathes and lives. They're too alike at times, but now more than ever when the world around them is already a constant reminder of what they've left behind...It can't be both of them. It can only be one. Before Inigo even finishes the end of his sentence, Roland is already pulling him into a hug, almost as close and tight as the one he gave him the first day they arrived. His eyes draw shut and he's cradling the back of Inigo's head, precious and fond. Still scared, still so scared. ]


Don't. Don't do this to me. You promised not to leave my side.

[ He breathes the words out like a plea. ]

Inigo, I'm asking you now. Take a rest. Thirty minutes. Nap in my tent, I'll wake you up. I promise. Just...Just don't go out alone. Please.

[ He pulls away but keeps his hands on his face, his shoulders, the worry in his frown deep set. He's far from angry. Far from disappointed. All Roland knows now is to look out for him. ]
