Curufin returned with a couple of poles balanced on his shoulder, having cut them from two eight-foot tall sapling trees. Under the other arm was a bundle of smaller wands that he could weave across the poles to make the stretcher bed. He set them all down in the clearing and started to work, but then he heard the beep coming from Halo's device.

He stood up and walked over to where Kaiba, Roland, and Koumyou were standing or sitting with Halo. He saw the look of fear on her face. "What is that?" he asked, gently, though he was instantly worried. "Is it giving you a warning? And if so, of what?"
