The gunfire got louder as they ran, the damage to the trees got more extreme, slowing them down as they met blocked paths.

But eventually they would reach a clearing, though a clearing from damage rather than any natural gap in trees.

At the far side Halo has gotten herself into a defensive position, with her back to a tree, a fallen tree shielding one side of her. She's cornered but considering she's on the ground, using the log to prop herself up to fire, it's not as if she was going anywhere.

She has an energy pistol and is firing at the five robots that have surrounded her.

As the voidtreckers arrive so does another robot, one of the large teraforming ones, sweeping logs aside as it rolls into the clearing.
