Taiki listened and watched as Tidus pointed to where he had come from, and where they should go next.

That way it is, he crouches down again, to let Tidus climb back up. It's probably beneath a kirin's dignity to allow someone to ride them so easily, someone who is not their king at least. But Taiki has never been a normal kirin in that regard.
