Soldat crouches down and pries the panel open with a knife blade, then gets to work hastily hotwiring the right lines to get the helpmates to reset. It only takes a minute, and then all the holograms in the room flicker, vanish, and reappear back at their stations.

"It only lasts a few minutes," they say. "We should get outa here."
