Otoha is still annoyed by the sword in his hand still having the properties of a stick. Even so, he gets to work, rushing a few of the mongeese to try to fight them off enough to create an opening. Even if smacking them doesn't work, he doesn't care - he's happy enough to use his body as bait for the rest of the group to break through.

Better someone who can't feel pain gets hurt than someone who'd get slowed down, after all.
