With the sudden attack of a chicken, Yondu reaches out and grabs Madoka, pulling her back against him, enough that leaning over her his coat falls around her, and his arrow streaks into and through the chicken. Not even a hesitation this time.

Now that he's heard it, he really looks at it. Feels a splinter of something, sees a shape that's not chicken-like in the slightest.

They've attracted some attention. The vendor and a couple of parents of a smaller child running over to check on Madoka.

They're asking questions in the shape of 'Are you alright?' and making comments of 'Wow this is as far in the city as I've seen it'. And only a younger, startled child reacts as Yondu recalls his arrow and catches it beside his head. It's only then that he lets Madoka go.
