"Shot." Evie repeats, shaking her head just a bit. It's a terrible situation they're all in, and Evie wouldn't mind it being officially over with. She was tired, aching, feeling spent emotionally.
When he asks if she's sure she's okay, she turns to look him in the eyes for a moment, contemplating what she'll say next.
"I don't really know how to explain how I feel right now. I don't want to say burnt out. I think stretched too thin might be a better way to put it. My team and I spent the last few days with a bunch of terrified children who've all been through this whole goblin mess before. The older ones knew how to handle it. But the younger ones, like my friend there, it was a lot for them. So I had to play big sister and keep them happy."
