Fëanor nods. “Let’s see.”

He can’t help but smile when Mio almost gets his name right on the first try. Take that, Tony Stark. It’s not as if it’s that hard as long as someone makes an effort. Fortunately, they’re long past that initial disagreement but also he can be just a little petty sometimes.

All of it is forgotten once he gets the sword shards heated and a hammer in his hand. The warmth of the furnace, the sound of metal striking metal. Fëanor hadn’t even realized how much he missed this.

The uneven crystal net unravels as the metal melts reforming into a more uniformed structure when the pieces are joint again. It would have been easier to melt them down completely and forge a new sword out of the reclaimed material. It wouldn’t be the same sword then though and Fëanor is not interested in easy. He wants to preserve the memory of the sword as much as the object itself.
